Day Three – ICN in UGANDA!

Hello family and friends!

We made it to Uganda!  It was crazy getting settled in the “dark” with minimal light at Red Chilli Hideaway but we did it!

Check out our place: www.redchillihideaway.com

We cannot post pictures yet because of the slow internet but hopefully (fingers crossed) tomorrow we will be able to.  Can’t wait to show all of you pictures of the beautiful orphans and also a real Ugandan toilet!!

On the first day we were able to visit our beloved Matsiko Children at their schools. Matsiko Children’s Choir 1 and 2 both traveled the USA for a year each to bring awareness and raise money for orphans in Uganda.  This is how many of us on this trip became acquainted with ICN and began sponsoring orphans.

Child Welfare and Adoption Society (C.W.A.S) was founded in 1958 and have rescued over 3,000 children. So far we have visited two of their schools: the Nysambya Children’s Home and Kankobe Children’s Home. Nysambya houses orphans age newborn to 6 years of age and Kankobe is children ages 6-18.

We are signing off for now but will be back soon with pictures!

Team quote of the day:

“We always know their lives are challenging but seeing it in person makes your heart and your eyes open even more.”

    Hi Don and Jennie,
Can’t wait for pictures to come!
Praying for you and the team. We know your heart and the call that God has placed on you.
“Every time we think of you, we thank God for you. Day and night you’re in our prayers as we call to mind your work of faith, your labor of love, and your patience of hope in following our Master, Jesus Christ, before God our Father. It is clear to us, friends, that God not only loves you very much but also has put his hand on you for something special. When the Message we preached came to you, it wasn’t just words. Something happened in you. The Holy Spirit put steel in your convictions.”
1 Thessalonians 1:2-5 (The Message) Read rest of chapter…
Blessings on you and the children!
    Meg
